Cumberland Psychiatric Group is proud to announce that one of our partners, Dr. Farrell Braziel, has been named Georgia Psychiatrist of the Year  by the Georgia branch of the American Psychiatric Physicians Association.

This honor bestowed by his peers, recognizes Dr. Braziel for his decades of contributions both to his patients and to the professional community.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Braziel currently sits on the advisory boards for the Skyland Trail Institute, Yerkes Primate Center, and is the Georgia district representative to the American Psychiatric Association.

 
 


Previously Dr. Braziel served as an officer of the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association, the National Association of Private Psychiatric Hospitals, the National Association of Psychiatric Administrators, and the Georgia Society for Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Braziel was Medical Director of Ridgeview Institute and Chief Resident of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  In 1995 Dr. Braziel was named a Distinguished Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association.
